Reporting

At St Paul’s the reporting process is a continual and flexible process where students and teachers communicate regularly about student learning by providing ongoing feedback to students about their performance. Professionally we know feedback is most effective when it is timely, relevant, encouraging and offers suggestions for student improvement.

We conduct formal parent teacher conversations (interviews) in February and June and written reports are provided in June and December. These written reports are based on the Victorian Curriculum which outlines what is essential for all Victorian students to learn during their time at school from Prep to Year 10.

Student Learning Portfolios accompany written reports and give parents a snapshot into the type of learning their child has been participating in.
NAPLAN (The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3 and 5. It tests the types of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken nationwide, every year in the second full week in May.
